File Drawer Specifications
- Minimum height is 10".
- Select Option H1 for file bars run front to back.
- Select Option H2 for file bars run side to side.
- Bar sticks up 3/8" above drawers.
- Minimum width for letter-sized drawer run front to back is 13-3/8" O.D with 1/2" sides (13-5/8" with 5/8" sides).
- Minimum width for legal-sized drawer run front to back is 16-3/8" O.D. with 1/2" sides (16-5/8" with 5/8" sides).
- Our default configuration for front to back files is to have the files left justified (If the drawer is wider than standard size for letter or legal, the excess space will be on the right side of the drawer).
- Our default configuration for side to side files is to have the files front justified (If the drawer is deeper than the standard size for letter or legal, the excess space will be in the back of the drawer).

Measure
Before submitting your quote or order request, you must first determine the appropriate measurements. Our drawer order dimensions are based on the measurements for the actual drawers, not the cabinet openings. In order to determine the correct drawer dimensions, make the appropriate deductions from the cabinet opening based on the drawer thickness and hardware pairing.
Request a Quote
Head to our Drawer Order page to access our simple, drawers quote and order form. Select that you are requesting a quote (or order), input your information, then add your drawer box information. For all new customers, we will always return a quote first, even if ‘order’ is selected.
Select Drawer Option H1 to add a file drawer configured front to back to your drawer order.
Select Drawer Option H2 to add a file drawer configured side to side to your drawer order.
Confirm Order
Quotes are delivered via email, where you may approve and convert to an order by clicking the ‘Approve Quote’ button within the email. Once approved, new customers will be prompted to enter their payment information directly into our secure payment processor. Once an order is confirmed by Eagle Woodworking, you will receive an Order Acknowledgement via email.
Track Order Progress
Eagle Woodworking sends updates on your order progress as it moves through our production stages: order acknowledged, order scheduled for production, order in production, order complete.
We also provide an online portal to view and manage all your quotes, orders, and invoices as well as make payments.
Delivery
Once your order is complete, Eagle Woodworking will package your drawers for delivery, taking extra precautions to ensure nothing is damaged during shipping. We offer an internal Eagle Delivery service or customer pick-up for local customers.
For customers outside of our internal delivery area, we will ship via small parcel or pallet, whichever is cheaper for the customer.

File Drawer - Front to Back FAQ
What is the typical lead time?
Our standard lead time for drawers and drawer inserts is 1-2 weeks.
What wood types are available for file drawers?
All our custom inserts are available in our standard wood types of soft maple, white oak and walnut. Requests for other wood types can be accommodated but may require longer than normal lead times.
How do I measure for file drawers?
No special measurements are required. Use the standard measurement instructions to determine your drawer dimensions.
The minimum width for a letter-sized drawer run front to back is 13-3/8" (outside dimensions) when using 1/2" sides (13-5/8" when using 5/8" sides).
The minimum width for a legal-sized drawer run front to back is 16-3/8" (outside dimensions) when using 1/2" sides (16-5/8" when using 5/8" sides).
Font to back - If the drawer is wider than the minimum sizes mentioned above, we will configure the file bars to be left justified on the drawer box, so any excess space will be on the right side of the drawer.
Side to side - If the drawer is deeper than the minimum sizes mentioned above, we will configure the file bars to be front justified on the drawer box, so any excess space will be on the back side of the drawer.
