How to Measure for Dovetail Drawers

Measuring Instructions for 1/2" and 5/8" Drawer Side Wood Thickness
Please note that when ordering, measurements are for actual drawer sizes, NOT cabinet openings.
When requesting a quote, all dimensions/measurements should be entered in inches (imperial system) as opposed to metric.

For Undermount Slides
Drawer width |
deduct 5/8" off the cabinet opening for 1/2" drawers deduct 3/8" off the cabinet opening for 5/8" drawers |
Drawer height |
deduct a minimum of 13/16" off the rough opening height |
Drawer depth front to back |
Drawer depth range is 9" to 30" in increments of 3" (i.e. 9", 12", 15", 18", 21", etc.) *Requires up to 1/2" space behind the drawer. Refer to hardware manufacturer's instructions for exact clearance requirements. |

For Sidemount Slides

deduct 1-1/16" off the cabinet opening |
Drawer height |
deduct 1/2" minimum off the rough opening height |
Drawer depth front to back |
Drawer depth in increments of 2" (even-numbered) (i.e. 10", 12", 14", 16" 18", 20", etc.) *Requires up to 3/8" space behind the drawer. Refer to hardware manufacturers instruction's for exact clearance requirements. |
